What's New in Human Resources 2019.1 FAQs

Following are questions and answers from the May 2, 2019, "What's New in Human Resources Webinar":

Benefit Group Maintenance

Q: On the missing taxes, if we don't select the box in the benefit group to allow missing taxes, are the same employees going to show up every pay period that don't have FICA or Medicare checked or just the first time after they are set up?

A: There are 3 ways to prevent the employee from showing on the report:

  1. Set up the tax on the employee in Workforce-Taxes
  2. Create a Checkbox UDF for the Workforce Employment tab called Allow for No Tax Setup. Select the UDF on the employee.
  3. Select Allow for No Tax Setup on the Benefit Group in Maintenance

Benefits Administration

Q: Regarding HSA, will the per pay amount also be brought over with the HSA, not just the annual amount?

A: Yes. Fields that will carry over from the previous year for HSA are: Bank account type, Routing Number, Bank Account Number, Annual Contribution and Per Pay Period Amount.

Q: Is the HSA Open Enrollment Batch Entry configured with the HR Portal?

A: Yes, if you elect to use last year’s enrollment for HSA when creating the open enrollment batch, the elections will be present in the ebenefit portal for employees as well.

ExecuTime

Q: Does Executime have a mobile app for employees and supervisors?

A: Please bring this question up with the ExecuTime group or with your customer care rep, who can connect you to the correct resources.

Q: Will the FLSA calculation work with the 1.5x OT that comes through ExecuTime?

A: Yes, FLSA in NWERP will function the same way it does now.

Payroll Hours

Q: Will the red indicator for out of date range show up in Departmental Hours or just Centralized Hours?

A: This indicator shows up in both places.

Q: Do you have to validate before running the pay day register in the hours entry screen? I have had issues with being able to validate in the hours entry screen.

A: Yes, you need to validate first. You can only validate when all departments are in Centralized Hours.

Q: Is there any type of reporting capability that has been added in departmental entry? Would be really nice to run reports at a departmental level instead of having to wait until pulled into Centralized.

A: Reporting requires that you validate, which is the reason it runs from Centralized Hours Entry.

Payroll Processing

Q: Are you able to use ACH function for a mini batch?

A: Yes, all the typical payroll functionality is present in the mini-pay batch.

Reports

Q: Are the new reports (G/L Distribution Report and the Position Budget to Actual Comparison Report) using DSS/BA for the results (hence the overnight wait)?

A: Not exactly. They are using the HR Reporting database which is a very similar concept. It also runs a job overnight to create the data.

Q: Is there a report similar to the New Employment Date Report that can account for initial hire vs rehire dates?

A: There is not a report that shows the hire vs. rehire date. Events identify the timing on the timeline. The Employment Status Report may be able to be used if you have statuses such as Initial Hire and Rehire.

Q: On the Position Budget to Actual Report, if multiple employees are working the same position, will it show anything for expenses?

A: It will show all the employee's paid on each position. So, if there are multiple employees paid on one position, yes.

Q: On the Position Budget to Actual Report, what about two employees working in the same pay period against the same position?

A: We will show everyone paid in that position, both employees will show up separately for the actual part.

Q: Does the G/L Distribution Report show hours associated with the G/L?

A: Yes, this report does show this data.

Q: Where is the Employee Employment Report run from?

A: Human Resources > Reports > Employee Reports > Employee Employment Data Report

Q: Can they include the project on the Position Budget to Actual Comparison Report?

A: It is on the GL Distribution Report but not the report requested. We’ll look into this internally, but it also may be a good candidate for the Ideas portal on Tyler Community to gauge interest.
